Instructions
- Thinly slice the flank steak.
- In a bowl, combine flank steak with cornstarch, baking soda, oyster sauce, soy sauce, oil, ginger, and garlic.
- Let the steak marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, mix chicken/beef broth, soy sauce, oyster sauce, dark soy sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, and white pepper for the sauce.
- Optional: add Shaoxing wine to the sauce mixture.
- Heat a pan over high heat and cook marinated steak until browned.
- Add the sauce mixture to the pan and bring to a simmer.
- Thicken with cornstarch slurry if desired.
