How to Cook Couscous Like an Award Winner

  • shallots
  • garlic
  • lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Toast the couscous until lightly browned.
  2. Sauté garlic and shallots to add aromatic flavor.
  3. Incorporate hot water little by little, stirring constantly to make the couscous creamy and tender.
  4. Season with butter, lemon juice, and scallions.
  5. Top with a mixture of sumac and za’atar.
  6. Fry an egg in garlic oil and place on top.
