Yield: 4-6 servings

Ingredients

produce
  • 1 teaspoonorange zest
  • 2 tablespoonsorange juice
  • 1 tablespoonfresh herbs (mint, parsley, cilantro)(chopped)
  • 6medjool dates(cut into quarters)
dairy
  • 250 gramsBrie cheese
pantry staple
  • 2 tablespoonsextra-virgin olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspooncinnamon
  • salt

Instructions

  1. Heat the oven to 400°F or 205°C.
  2. Slice the top off the block of Brie. I like to use floss for this, go around the block then pull the floss across the cheese. A knife will do the job as well.
  3. Place the Brie on a baking dish and bake for 5 to 7 minutes, until melted.
  4. In the meantime, heat the oil to a pan on medium heat. Add the dates, sizzle each side for 1-2 minutes.
  5. Take the pan off heat, add the orange zest, cinnamon, orange juice, salt and herbs.
  6. Top the Brie off with fried dates and serve with bread on the side.
