Ingredients

  • 2eggs(large)

  • 200 gbutter(unsalted, melted)
  • 150 gbutter(room temperature)

  • 1 kgwhite bread flour
pantry staple
  • 1 tbspdry yeast
  • 2 tbspsalt
  • 2 tbspsugar
other
  • 480 mlwater(luke-warm)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar & salt.
  2. Add yeast, eggs and melted butter, then gradually add water to the mix to form a dough.
  3. Knead dough for 8-10 mins till smooth and elastic.
  4. Cover and let rise for 1.5 hours till doubled.
  5. Grease pot/ cake tin very generously with butter.
  6. Divide into 8-10 balls, flatten each ball into a rough circle, burn with melted butter or room temperature butter, roll loosely into a spiral log and place seam side down into the pot, packed snug and tightly (every piece should be coated in butter to achieve flaky crust).
  7. Cover and let rest for 45-60 minutes, then cover with bake-proof lid and bake for 35-40 mins and then bake for another 10-12 minutes uncovered.
