Sausage Muffin Teasers

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoonsonion(finely chopped)
  • 1/2 teaspoonthyme

  • 1egg(slightly beaten)
  • 1/2 lbbulk pork sausage
dairy
  • 1/4 cupextra sharp Cheddar cheese(shredded)
  • 1 cupmilk
grain
  • 2 cupsall-purpose flour
pantry staple
  • 1 tablespoonbaking powder
  • 1 tablespoonsugar
  • 1/4 teaspoonsalt
  • Dashcayenne pepper
  • 1/4 cupvegetable oil

Instructions

  1. In 1-quart casserole, place sausage; cover. Microwave at HIGH (10) 3 to 5 minutes until browned, stirring to crumble after 2 minutes. Drain well; set aside.
  2. In medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, thyme and cayenne pepper; make a well in center of mixture. Combine milk, egg and oil. Add to dry ingredients, stirring just until moistened. Stir in sausage, cheese and onion.
  3. Place metal accessory rack on rack supports. Preheat oven to 425°F.
  4. Spoon batter into greased 1 3/4x1-inch muffin pans, filling three-fourths full.
  5. Bake 13 to 18 minutes. Remove from pans immediately.

- 1/4 lb sausage, 8/10 sausage - Jamestown tube in mt. freezer - nutmeg - paprika -  fresh chives & parsley - 3/4 cup cheese
