Pillowy Soft Cinnamon Rolls

  • 2-3 tablespoonsmilk or cream
  • 1/2 cupunsalted butter(softened)
  • 1/4 cupunsalted butter(melted)
  • 3/4 cupmilk(warm)

  • 4 cupsall-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoonsalt
  • 1 cuppowdered sugar
  • 3/4 cupbrown sugar
  • 2 teaspoonsground cinnamon
  • 2 1/4 teaspoonsinstant yeast
  • 1/4 cupgranulated sugar
  • 1/4 cuphoney

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine warm milk and yeast. Let sit until foamy, about 5 minutes.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together sugar, honey, flour, and salt.
  3. Add softened butter, eggs, and yeast mixture to the flour mixture. Stir until a sticky dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 2 hours or until doubled in size.
  6. Punch down the dough and roll it out into a rectangle.
  7. Spread melted butter over the dough and sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.
  8. Roll the dough tightly into a log and cut into 10 rolls.
  9. Place rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let rise for 30 minutes.
  10. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  11. Bake the rolls for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
  12. In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar and milk to make the icing.
  13. Drizzle icing over warm rolls and serve.

My notes

For extra gooey rolls, apply a thin layer of icing while rolls are warm.
