Classic Apple Pie

Ingredients

  • 1/4 teaspoonnutmeg(ground)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Prepare the pie crust and chill in the refrigerator.
  3. Peel, core, and slice the apples.
  4. In a large bowl, mix the apple slices with lemon juice, sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  5. Roll out the pie dough and place in a pie pan.
  6. Fill with apple mixture and dot with butter.
  7. Roll out the top crust and place over the filling, sealing the edges.
  8. Cut slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.
  9. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes until the crust is golden brown.
  10. Cool before serving.
