Sticky Toffee Pudding

- 110 mlboiling water
- 1/2 tspbicarbonate of soda
Instructions
- Soak dates in a bowl with boiling water and bicarbonate of soda for 10 minutes. Mash or blend into paste.
- Cream butter and sugar till light and fluffy.
- Add eggs and vanilla, one egg at a time.
- Fold in flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- Pour into greased baking dish and bake at 180 degrees Celsius (160 fan) for 25-30 minutes, till skewer comes out clean.
- In separate small pan, melt butter, sugar, and syrup till dissolved. Then add cream and vanilla extract.
- Pour onto pudding.
