Fruit Kuchen

Ingredients

- 1½ cupsall-purpose flour

- ¼ cupsugar
- ½ teaspoonsalt
- ½ cupsugar
- 1 teaspooncinnamon
Instructions
- Toss 1½ cups flour, sugar and salt to mix.
- Cut in butter with a pastry blender or two knives, until mixture looks like coarse meal.
- Beat egg yolk with milk, add to flour.
- Press dough against bottom and sides of a greased 8-inch square baking pan.
- Sprinkle with 2 tablespoons flour.
- Spread with fruit, sprinkle with sugar mixed with cinnamon, dot with butter.
- Bake in a hot oven (400°F) about 45 minutes, until crust is brown and fruit is tender.
- Variation: Use 3 cups drained canned fruit, reduce sugar topping to ¼ cup.
- Cream Topping: Beat 1 egg yolk with ¼ cup sour cream, pour over fruit after first 10 minutes of baking.

- May need more milk.
- Use 1/2 cup sugar while baking others! Opt.
