Rich Fruitcake

Ingredients

  • 2 poundspitted dates
  • 2 poundscherries(mixed red and green)

  • 4eggs(large)
  • 1 poundpecans(halves and pieces)
  • 1/2 poundswalnuts(halves and pieces)

  • 2 1/2 cupsflour
pantry staple
  • 1 teaspoonvanilla
  • 1/4 cupsugar
  • 1 teaspoonbaking powder
  • ·1/4 teaspoonsalt

Instructions

  1. Mix fruit and nuts.
  2. Sprinkle with combined sifted flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla and mix.
  4. Grease two loaf pans and line with brown paper.
  5. Pour batter into pans.
  6. Bake in slow oven on 300 degrees F for 1 1/2 hours.
