Vegan General Tso's Cauliflower

Ingredients

  • 4scallions(minced)
  • 1 tbspginger(minced or grated)
  • 5dried chiles
  • 3 clovesgarlic(minced)
pantry staple
  • 2 quartsvegetable oil
  • 2 quartspeanut oil
  • 1 tbspsesame oil
  • 1/2 cuphoisin sauce

Instructions

  1. Heat the vegetable or peanut oil in a large pot over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F.
  2. In a separate pan, heat the sesame oil over medium heat.
  3. Add the garlic, scallions, and ginger to the sesame oil and sauté until fragrant.
  4. Add the dried chiles and hoisin sauce to the pan and stir to combine.
  5. Once the oil is hot, fry the cauliflower florets until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Remove the cauliflower from the oil and drain on paper towels.
  7. Toss the fried cauliflower in the sauce until well coated.
  8. Serve immediately, garnished with additional scallions if desired.
