Kreplach

  • 1/4 cupwater
  • 1/2 teaspoonsalt

  • 1 tablespoonvegetable oil

  • chicken broth

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt.
  2. Make a well in the center and add the eggs, water, and oil.
  3. Mix until a dough forms, then knead on a floured surface until smooth.
  4. Cover the dough and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  5. In a skillet, heat oil over medium heat and add the onion.
  6. Cook until the onion is soft, then add the ground beef.
  7. Season with salt and pepper and cook until the beef is browned.
  8. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick.
  9. Cut the dough into 3-inch squares.
  10. Place a spoonful of the beef mixture in the center of each square.
  11. Fold the dough over to form a triangle and seal the edges.
  12. Bring a pot of chicken broth or water to a boil.
  13. Drop the kreplach into the boiling liquid and cook until they float to the top, about 5-7 minutes.

These kreplach can be served in soup or as a side dish.
