Homemade Crispy Pan Fried Dumplings

Ingredients

  • spring onions(finely chopped)
  • 1/4chinese cabbage(finely chopped (salted to remove excess water))

  • 250 gplain flour

  • 1/2 tspsalt
  • 1 tspsugar
  • 1 tbsplight soy sauce
  • 1 tspsesame oil
  • white pepper

  • 1 tspinstant dried yeast
  • 140 mllukewarm water
  • chicken stock jelly(optional)

Instructions

  1. Mix the flour, sugar, and instant dried yeast together in a bowl.
  2. Slowly add the lukewarm water while mixing until a dough is formed.
  3. Knead the dough until smooth then cover and let it rest for proofing, but don’t let it fully double in size.
  4. For the filling, mix together the pork, spring onions, cabbage, egg, soy sauce, sesame oil, white pepper, sugar, salt, and chicken stock jelly if using.
  5. Divide the dough into small pieces and flatten each piece.
  6. Place a spoonful of filling onto each piece of dough and shape into dumplings.
  7. Pan fry the dumplings in oil until the bottoms are golden brown and crispy.
  8. Add a little water to the pan and cover to steam until the dumplings are cooked through.
