Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Clean the chanterelle mushrooms with a damp cloth and trim any tough stems.
- Slice the mushrooms and set aside.
- In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat and add chopped garlic and onion. Sauté until translucent.
- Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet and cook until they are golden brown.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- In a baking dish, layer the sautéed mushrooms with slices of bread.
- Pour cream over the layers and top with grated cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the top is golden and bubbly.
- Serve hot as a side dish or main course.
